JAMMU/RAJOURI : GDC Doongi Organizes Unity March and Marathon under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Govt. Degree College Doongi successfully organized a Unity March and Marathon on Drug Awareness under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), in accordance with the activity calendar issued by the Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department, J&K.
The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Chanchal Angral, whose leadership ensured the effective and smooth execution of the activity. The initiative aimed to sensitize students, youth, and the local community about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a collective commitment towards building a drug-free society.
All members of the college staff actively participated, demonstrating a strong institutional commitment.
The Unity March commenced from the college campus, where students carrying banners and placards conducted the march both within the college and outside the campus, spreading awareness through impactful slogans advocating a drug-free lifestyle. The participants highlighted the social, psychological, and economic consequences of substance abuse and emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in combating this menace following the march, a Marathon for Drug Awareness was organized, symbolizing strength, resilience, and the determination of youth to stand firmly against drug addiction. The activity served as a meaningful platform to engage students in a healthy and socially responsible initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and staff and reiterated the institution’s commitment to the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Faculty members also encouraged students to act as ambassadors of change and promote awareness at the grassroots level.
The programme concluded with a reaffirmation of the pledge to work towards a drug-free and healthy nation, in line with the vision of the national campaign.
