: J&K Police Rajouri Foils Two Bovine Smuggling Attempts – 07 Animals Rescued, Two Vehicles Seized

As part of its ongoing drive against bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police foiled two separate smuggling attempts in the jurisdictions of PS Kandi and PS Kalakote, leading to the rescue of 07 bovine animals and seizure of 02 vehicles.
In the first incident a naka was established by a police party of PS Kandi at Kandi area.
During checking a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK11E-0531, coming from Kotranka towards Rajouri was intercepted. The driver fled from the spot abandoning the vehicle. During checking the vehicle was found loaded with 05 bovine animals being smuggled illegally towards the Kashmir Valley without the mandatory permission from the District Magistrate. In this regard FIR No.
50/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA was registered at PS Kandi and investigation has been initiated.
In a similar incident during a surprise naka checking at Potha Naka a Mahindra Pickup vehicle bearing registration number JK02AK 6181 was signalled to stop.
However the driver tried to flee and eventually abandoned the vehicle on the road. During Search 02 bovine animals were found being transported illegally.
In this regard a Case FIR No. 38/2025 U/S 223, 324(3) BNS & 11 PCA was registered at Police Station Kalakote and investigation is in progress.
Rajouri Police is committed to acting firmly against those involved in illegal bovine transportation and appeals to the public to report such activities promptly to ensure effective action.
